Elmsford Names New High School Principal

The Elmsford Board of Education is pleased to announce that the district will appoint Ms. Phyllis A. Amori as the Principal of Alexander Hamilton High School, effective July 1, 2008. This appointment will take place at the May 7, 2008 Board of Education meeting. A reception for Ms. Amori will take place at 7:45 PM. Ms. Amori is currently an Assistant Principal at John Jay High School in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District, located in Cross River, New York. She brings a wealth of experience as a Social Studies teacher, administrative intern and Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction. The district is delighted to attract an administrator of Ms. Amori's caliber to the Elmsford Public Schools. Elmsford Names New Superintendent of Schools

On March 5, 2008, The Elmsford Board of Education appointed Dr. Barbara Peters as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2008. Dr. Peters is currently the Superintendent of the Tonawanda City School District, located in the Buffalo area. She brings experience as an assistant superintendent, building principal and classroom teacher to the Elmsford Public Schools. Dr. Peters was selected from a pool of over 50 candidates and emerged as a leader who closely matched the leadership profile that staff and community members helped to create last fall.
